Connect is the portal that holds all tools and HR communications for over 85k Best Buy employees to accomplish day to day tasks, serve customers, handle inventory and much more. An employee ecosystem that innovated with the introduction of widgets and the first to implement dark mode in the enterprise.

REDESIGNING FOR FINDABILITY

Connect before the redesign was a disjointed experience where employees couldn't find their tools, SOPs, pay or where to take their PTO. With our guiding principles of VISIBILITY, CLARITY & GUIDANCE we quickly realized the site had to be completely reimagined.

For this we made the tools front and center, introduced a more guided web search experience, created widgets for the app home screens and moved notifications to the side.

This project entails a responsive web portal, a native app and an automated HR dashboard so Best Buy stakeholders could post notifications in Connect app and web.

THE CONCEPT

To engage the audience and foster a sense of community, the magazine will incorporate interactive elements. This may include QR codes leading to behind-the-scenes content, artist interviews, or even community challenges.

THE OUTCOME

Impacting 85k and helping them accomplish their job with excellence and speed is personally very rewarding. This project was absolutely filled with steep obstacles. I had to meet weekly with important Best Buy stakeholders and had to justify from a business perspective all of my design decisions. This project was my biggest growth as a designer.
